Because I have nothing better to do series

So this is third week I've got myself coughing 24/7. I've suspected myself infected with H1N1 and anticipated at least half a month of medical leave but God doesn't grant me my wish all the time. I've seen two different doctors at the same clinic and they told me it's the throat inflammation. I actually have difficulty in breathing sometimes, and it leads me to think if I have any lung inflammation or asthma. Anyway, I have been give another round of medications, with this time the doctor specify the pharmacist to give me a "stronger" dosage (on the cough syrups that taste "Sarsaparilla").

I am killing my time here, have nothing better to do other than walking around campus looking for hot chick (For your information, I am an engineering students, and subjected to the universal curse). So let's do a little research on the cough syrups.

The label says:

Each 5ml contains:

Dextromethorphan HBr... ... 15mg

Parabens 0.125% w/v as reservative

I went on to my best teacher and I was surprised by the popularity of this word in the search engine:

I've yet to key in my forth letters and the auto-complete mechanism has already got me the right thing I want.

Wiki says: Dextromethorphan (DXM or DM) is an antitussive drug. It is one of the active ingredients used to prevent coughs in many over-the-counter cold and cough medicines.

Considering the fact that I've been living on the medication containing this substance for the pass 3 weeks, I am actually concern more on the side-effect part.

For the tech geeks

my MBTI

Dated back in the middle of last month, my latest MBTI result shocked me off the desk. This is a review on my MBTI results around June last year and this year.

June 08
Extroversion 9, Introversion 10
Sensing 2, Intuition 24
Thinking 9, Feeling 16
Judging 6, Perceiving 17

June 09
Extroversion 14, Introversion 7
Sensing 3, Intuition 23
Thinking 9, Feeling 16
Judging 5, Perceiving 16

One year intense AIESEC experience has somehow, I believe, shaped me into a people's people. But I really doubted on how extrovert I am, coz I am a person who enjoy spending time with myself. Reading, surfing internet @ Starbucks, driving and get lost in town, and all other things that you can and can't never think of. Okay, let's micro-analyse myself by the 16 traits from MBTI.

June 08
INFP - The Idealist
Quiet, reflective, and idealistic. Interested in serving humanity. Well-developed value system, which they strive to live in accordance with. Extremely loyal. Adaptable and laid-back unless a strongly-held value is threatened. Usually talented writers. Mentally quick, and able to see possibilities. Interested in understanding and helping people.

June 09
ENFP - The Inspirer
Enthusiastic, idealistic, and creative. Able to do almost anything that interests them. Great people skills. Need to live life in accordance with their inner values. Excited by new ideas, but bored with details. Open-minded and flexible, with a broad range of interests and abilities.

It is very true. There are some minor (erhem... "minor" is very moderate to describe me I think.. lol) changes in me one year down the road. Highlighted there, I know I have changed from a laid-back person to someone whom you will hate and curse the most if you are engaged in an arguement with me. I have my stance always and never afraid to voice it out in a discussion.

Okay, following part is the professional detailed description about The Inspirer, my current character. Again I am highlighting some part that are appealing to me. =)

*********Start**********

As an ENFP, your primary mode of living is focused externally, where you take things in primarily via your intuition. Your secondary mode is internal, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit in with your personal value system.

ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic people, typically very bright and full of potential. They live in the world of possibilities, and can become very passionate and excited about things. Their enthusiasm lends them the ability to inspire and motivate others, more so than we see in other types. They can talk their way in or out of anything. They love life, seeing it as a special gift, and strive to make the most out of it.

ENFPs have an unusually broad range of skills and talents. They are good at most things which interest them. Project-oriented, they may go through several different careers during their lifetime. To onlookers, the ENFP may seem directionless and without purpose, but ENFPs are actually quite consistent, in that they have a strong sense of values which they live with throughout their lives. Everything that they do must be in line with their values. An ENFP needs to feel that they are living their lives as their true Self, walking in step with what they believe is right. They see meaning in everything, and are on a continuous quest to adapt their lives and values to achieve inner peace. They're constantly aware and somewhat fearful of losing touch with themselves. Since emotional excitement is usually an important part of the ENFP's life, and because they are focused on keeping "centered", the ENFP is usually an intense individual, with highly evolved values.

An ENFP needs to focus on following through with their projects. This can be a problem area for some of these individuals. Unlike other Extraverted types, ENFPs need time alone to center themselves, and make sure they are moving in a direction which is in sync with their values. ENFPs who remain centered will usually be quite successful at their endeavors. Others may fall into the habit of dropping a project when they become excited about a new possibility, and thus they never achieve the great accomplishments which they are capable of achieving.

Most ENFPs have great people skills. They are genuinely warm and interested in people, and place great importance on their inter-personal relationships. ENFPs almost always have a strong need to be liked. Sometimes, especially at a younger age, an ENFP will tend to be "gushy" and insincere, and generally "overdo" in an effort to win acceptance. However, once an ENFP has learned to balance their need to be true to themselves with their need for acceptance, they excel at bringing out the best in others, and are typically well-liked. They have an exceptional ability to intuitively understand a person after a very short period of time, and use their intuition and flexibility to relate to others on their own level.

Because ENFPs live in the world of exciting possibilities, the details of everyday life are seen as trivial drudgery. They place no importance on detailed, maintenance-type tasks, and will frequently remain oblivous to these types of concerns. When they do have to perform these tasks, they do not enjoy themselves. This is a challenging area of life for most ENFPs, and can be frustrating for ENFP's family members.

An ENFP who has "gone wrong" may be quite manipulative - and very good it. The gift of gab which they are blessed with makes it naturally easy for them to get what they want. Most ENFPs will not abuse their abilities, because that would not jive with their value systems.

ENFPs sometimes make serious errors in judgment. They have an amazing ability to intuitively perceive the truth about a person or situation, but when they apply judgment to their perception, they may jump to the wrong conclusions.

ENFPs who have not learned to follow through may have a difficult time remaining happy in marital relationships. Always seeing the possibilities of what could be, they may become bored with what actually is. The strong sense of values will keep many ENFPs dedicated to their relationships. However, ENFPs like a little excitement in their lives, and are best matched with individuals who are comfortable with change and new experiences.

Having an ENFP parent can be a fun-filled experience, but may be stressful at times for children with strong Sensing or Judging tendancies. Such children may see the ENFP parent as inconsistent and difficult to understand, as the children are pulled along in the whirlwind life of the ENFP. Sometimes the ENFP will want to be their child's best friend, and at other times they will play the parental authoritarian. But ENFPs are always consistent in their value systems, which they will impress on their children above all else, along with a basic joy of living.

ENFPs are basically happy people. They may become unhappy when they are confined to strict schedules or mundane tasks. Consequently, ENFPs work best in situations where they have a lot of flexibility, and where they can work with people and ideas. Many go into business for themselves. They have the ability to be quite productive with little supervision, as long as they are excited about what they're doing.

Because they are so alert and sensitive, constantly scanning their environments, ENFPs often suffer from muscle tension. They have a strong need to be independent, and resist being controlled or labelled. They need to maintain control over themselves, but they do not believe in controlling others. Their dislike of dependence and suppression extends to others as well as to themselves.

ENFPs are charming, ingenuous, risk-taking, sensitive, people-oriented individuals with capabilities ranging across a broad spectrum. They have many gifts which they will use to fulfill themselves and those near them, if they are able to remain centered and master the ability of following through.

Jungian functional preference ordering for ENFP:

Dominant: Extraverted Intuition
Auxiliary: Introverted Feeling
Tertiary: Extraverted Thinking
Inferior: Introverted Sensing

Contemporary Agenda 1: Globalization - Part 1

It's been a while since the last time I sit down quietly and ran my fingers through the keys. I've gone through quite a number of interesting and memorable events in this few weeks; which I don't bother to name it one by one here. But what is in my mind now, in this minute, is something too big for you to think it is close to you, while in fact it's definitely something very close to someone with the sense of urgency and awareness. Something that sounds too bombastic for you to understand it's nature.

Let's talk about Globalization

Generally whenever people speak of this word, it's always easier to associate it with other terms like technological advancement, social gap elimination, human mobilization, and probably it's imaginative boundless working space. Places like Bangalore and Hong Kong has long became the solid evidences of this booming issue.

You will see how India manages the enormous amount of data from US Hospital database via the underwater cable; I am not going into detailed about the advancement in information sharing and management. Never be surprised to see how a CEO from US can have 24 hours productivity , thanks to the beauty of time difference between US and China/India; but I am not going into detailed about the increased and boosted up human capacity. Never be amazed when you see Dell's laptop compartmental stores is everywhere in the world but not in your country, while most of your friends are holding one in their hand to school; but again I am not going into detailed about Dell's virtual corporate management and industry specialized production scheme.

We are probably exposed too much to only the positive side of this global phenomenon. While this term in our mind are pretty much defined by the boons, there are still lot has to be discovered. Things that I mentioned above is just like the tip of an iceberg. What lies under the still water has yet to be unveiled. I am skipping that part because that is all what everyone can see and everyone can understand from various sources. What I am going to focus here is something intended for the leader and citizen representatives.

I guess it's not a norm for everyone to associate the word "international enactment and country corporation" with Globalization. News of this kind strikes us everyday when we flip through that poor thin pieces of newspaper, global and international section.

My point here: as an important step in moving towards the concept of one world, developed countries are pioneering the concept of international cooperation; leveraging from this collaboratoin to maximize it's gains.

**********CAP**************

I've got the muse to post up something after going through those awesome articles on this very informative books - [50 facts that should change the world] - by Jessica Williams. The article on Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) by the European Union, did triggers my thought upon the issue of globalisation, though the article is entirely not on the globalization.

You might want to refer to my best teacher for the detailed description for CAP. But the issue regarding this CAP as deemed by the European Union has largely affected the citizens working at this ground-level sector in the economic pie, specifically refering to those farmers from the developing world under EU's hood. The initial intention of subsidization and funding focusing on making food production sustainable and affordable to every consumer has somewhat turn into a global threat.

CAP's subsidizing program has long been criticised for its' biasness, and lack of comprehensive consideration. It's has indeed, achieved it's result for booming and skyroketing the agricultural performance of EU's country. But it's economical implication doesn't stops at the border of EU. It spreads all over the world and somewhat, dominating the market. Quote an example, sugar production. Over production of sugar from EU country as a result of subsidizing program (that attracts more farmer to grow sugar cane), has reach it's product to the world market. It has drastically affects its commodity price and lower it's demand becaues of it's enourmous availability. Farmers from developing country in Africa suffer from this policy, that seemingly brings sustainable food production to people on Earth.

EU is not the only country that has put on the fire. US has added oil this wildfire.

****************End of CAP*************

Development and power from a country, regardless of how many natural resources we have, regardless of how high the quality of human capital is, we will eventually come to a point of saturation; where the development of country is limited by it's exhausting resources, where the country's march towards breaking the bottleneck of it's gross domestic production is hindered by the disproportionate advancement of human capacity and increasing social and capital demand.

When major developed country came to this situation, circumstances like CAP (an example of an united partnership) are prioritized. CAP is just a mere example on this issue. We have more to discuss if we wanna touch about Kyoto Protocol.

Globalization is not a term defining a treaty or enactment, nor that it is a plan. It's a natural phenomenon happened as human progresses in it's circle. Just like how human are separated by creed, tribes, skin colours thousand years ago; how human are separated by it's social status around the Industrial Revolution; how human emphazised on our own nationahood during World War 2.

Globalization is a natural phenomenon as human progresses through it's development curve

It's inevitable. It's coming and happening everywhere. We've seen enough benifits from this natural phenomenon. And I've just spoken some solemn truth from those who suffer from this as well. Flattening the world via globalization doesn't mean they don't put on walls to separate people by social status. If leaders from the developed world continue to put on Jin Crow's lenses while devising any plan; if leaders from the developed world continue to think from their own nation perspective; and if leaders from the developed world do not understand this simple clauses defining one world, one dream; the gap between the poor and the rich will eventually turn into a rift.

It's a cradle to grave consideration. Leader, start putting on your thinking cap, NOW!
